I have done abit of research in making my own fly screens. I'm living in Singapore and fly screens are still considered rare, especially for home. There are companies who specialize in them, but way too expensive. I have a few options, but I want to buy really good and long-lasting, yet cheap fly screens' frames.
Magnetic
Found magnetic strips in HomeFix, they are expensive, about SGD12.90 / USD9 for about a metre. Try on metal surfaces, and their magnetic fields are weak
Velcro
Found a few DIY velcro fly screens on eBay, heard that it is not long-lasting.
Plastic frames (I think it is plastic, found them in HomeFix)
They are only in white color, and the width is abit big. My windows' frames are in dark brown, and thus, my windows will look ugly after installing them.
Roller
This is good, as you can roll the screen up when you open the windows without cutting the mesh. This is the most expensive, and I would consider if I can find good suppliers, and if the price is reasonable.
